Duties and Responsibilities: A
cardiologist is a physician who treats and diagnoses disease/injury of the
heart and cardiovascular system.
Their
duties include:
· Discuss symptoms, treatments, and
diagnoses with patients
· Install pacemakers, prescribe
medications, and monitor their effectiveness
· Perform medical imaging studies and
other diagnostic procedures
· Document all patient data and
interactions
· Obtain continuing education by
attending conferences and reading medical publications
· Educate patients about how to lead
a healthier lives
Average Salary: $62,000
- $413,000 per year
Education: Complete
a Doctor of Medicine program, at least 3 years of college to enter the program,
passing scores on the Medical College-Admission Test, Doctoral Degree in
medicine, completion of residency program in internal medicine and cardiology,
state license, and cardiologist certification
