Final Part 1

                       Class/Self Evaluation

What I liked abou this class is that we never got any homework and we were able to be creative on our portfolios. I didn't like having to work on typing tutor, it was really boring. I didn't like the fact that we couldn't play typing games. But I did like the CTR card checks because it was exciting knowing who was going to get picked. Some suggestions for the class is that we should be able to play typing games and to write about different things other than quotes and job descriptions. For example, I think we should write more about ourselves or about something or someone we really like/admire. We would all be able to get to know each other more. I didn't always do my best but most of the time I did and I will continue to do my best. I want to pass this class with an A as awell as with my other classes. I am committed to being a CTR person because I want to live happily without any stress or worries. If I chose not be CTR person and always do what's wrong, I would be living a life with so many problems, stress, and worries. Since, I don't want to live a life like that, I'm choosing to always do the right thing.

IDP Showcase

                                           IDP Showcase

My topic for the IDP Project was lung cancer. My part in the presentation was to research about the community resources of lung cancer and ways to prevent it and put it on the keynote. My team members were: Henry, Priscila, and Carlos. I wasn't that nervous about presenting because during the summer bridge program, we had a similar project like the IDP that we also had to present, so I kind of knew what to expect. I've also been presenting many times since 6th grade so it's something that I'm used to. I knew what I was going to say so I wasn't really worried about that. But when I present, my legs start shaking as well as my voice which is something that I hate because I can't control it. But other than that, the presentation went well. This project helped me get used to presenting a second IDP Project and learn more about lung cancer. I learned that there's two types of it and that the #1 cause of it is smoking. I also learned that men smoked more than women back in 2010 so they got lung cancer more than men but now women are smoking more so they're the ones getting more lung cancer than men.

"Always do right"

                          "Always do right"
                            By: Mark Twain

This quote means you always need to do the right thing no matter what others think. You should never make decisions based on what people might think of you. If you know it's the right thing to do, then do it. Doing the right thing, will make your life happier and much more relaxing and stress-free compared to someone who always does the wrong thing. For example, if you have finals the next day and decide to spend them by studying by yourself and doing homework you'll more than likely do well on your finals. But if you decide to party and drink, you'll wake up with headaches and throwing up all the time. You didn't study or do your homework so you'll most likely fail or not pass the finals. So now you'll have to worry about retaking it or making up for it. Maybe you won't even be able to do either of those so you'll have to stay with that low grade. If you always do what's wrong, you'll be bringing so many negative copnseuqences, worries, and stress to your life. Your decisions affect your life a lot so it's better to do the right thing and live a life without stress or worries.

"It's better to be alone than to be in bad company."

"It's better to be alone than to be in bad company."
                           By: Anonymous

This quote means that it's better to be alone than to be with bad company. It's better to be by yourself studying, watching TV, or doing your homework than being with people who only party, drink and smoke. They might be laughing and having a good time but that's only going to last time for a short while. After that they'll be throwing up, getting headches, and being in pain. Unlike them, since you were alone doing the right thing, you're free of pain and have nothing to worry about. You'll achieve more on your own then others ever will. Instead of going to parties and drinking, you should study. You'll be more successful and have no negative consequences coming towards you. If you hang out with people who are bad influences, you'll be wasting useful time and distancing yourself from being succesful. Other than risking the chances of you successing, you can get caught and go to jail for drunk driving, underage smoking, illegal drugs, and many other things. But if you hang out with good people who do what's right, you'll support each other and have good friends. You guys would be free of problems and consequences and not have to worry about anything in your life going wrong.

"If we do what's right, we have no need to fear."

"If we do what's right, we have no need to fear."
                        By: Evan Stephens

This quote means that when you do what you're suppose to do and don't disobey any rules there's no need for you to fear of any consequences. If you know you did the right thing, then you should only be proud and glad that you did. For example, if you're taking a test and you cheat, then you'll have to worry about being caught and knowing if you pass or failed the test. But if you study and take the test without cheating, then you're more than likely to get a good grade and you won't have anything to worry about being caught or getting in trouble of failing. When you do the right thing, you never have to worry about negative consequences occurring to you. Unlike others, who never do the right thing and always dow hat they're not suppose to, they're always constantly waorried about what might happen to them. Doing the right thing, makes your life easier and casuses you no stress or worries.

The 3 Questions

                           The 3 Questions
  1. Can people trust me to do what's right?
  2. Am I committed to doing my very best?
  3. Do I treat people the way I want to be treated?
"If the answers to these questions are YES, there is no way you can fail."
                            By: Lou Holtz

This quote means that if you answered yes to those 3 questions, there is no way you can fail at life. You should have people trust you to do the right thing. They shouldn't expect you to be the kind of person who alaways does what's wrongs and never obeys the rules. You should let people know and think that you're a responsible and mature person who can make the right decisions. You should also be committed to do your best in school, life, and everything that you do. Your future and the measurement of success will reflect on the effort that you put to get to where you are now. If you put little or no effort at all, your future won't be much of a success unlike someone who put a lot of effort. You should treat people the way you want them to be treated. No one wants to be teated with a rude attitude and no manners, so why should you treat them that way and expect total kindness in return? You can't expect someone to be generous to you when you treat them in a very rude way. If you give total kindness to someone, then you treat you that way too. You get what you give.

Physical Fitness

"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. The relationship between the soundness of the body and the activities of he mind is subtle and complex. Much is not yet understood. But we do know what the Greeks knew: that intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong."
                                   By: John F. Kennedy

This quote means that being physically active won't just help you have a healthy body but it will also help you have good mental health. It will help you live a good life and do what's right. It's not right to do drugs and drink alcohol because that affects your brain. As a result, it affects what you think and how you see things. It can cause you to live a bad life with negative consequences and no good in it. Physical fitness benefits the brain and helps you think better. For example, if you do drugs and drink alcohol, you become obsessed with it and to begin with, doing drugs is illegal. So you're already doing something wrong. Since it's hard to stop, you keep getting more of it and you're killing yourself both mentally and physically. You start to lose reasoning and do things knowing they're wrong. It's better to stay awqay from those things. They don't benefit you, you don't need them, and only bring bad things to your life. You're ruining your life. It's better to stay active and do physical activities. You'll be benefiting yourself both physically and emotionally. You will live a better life with it and without drugs and alcohol.

Vaddhoo Island in the Madives

                           Vaddhoo Island in the Madives

Vaddhoo Island is located in the Madives under the continent of India. It is also known as the heaven on Earth. It's population is very small compared to other islands, countries, and continents but I find that to be a good thing. It's popoualtion was 500 in the year of 2007. I like the fact that the population is small because then it doesn't feel overcrowded and it feels like a place where you can greet everyone in the streets. It has a sea known as The Sea of Stars that at night, it glows like if it's a reflection of the stars. During the night, marince microbes called phytoplankton are bioluminescent and emit the glow of blue. The sea along with others, also has some really cool animal life. I chose this island to visit because it looks like a really beautiful place to explore. The place where is located in, the Madives, also looks like a nice and calm place to stay in for a while, especially since it's far away from everything.
