"I have been asked what I mean by 'word of honor.' I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls- walls of stone ever so high, ever so thick, reaching ever so far into the ground- there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first."

This quote means that whatever you keep your word to, you must keep it and never break it. It sounds silly when people a big deal over a promise but that's how you gain or worse, lose someone's trust. You have to have respect for that promise you made because you're giving someone else the idea that they can trust you. They're putting all their faith and trust in you to keep your word but once you break it, even just once, you lose the person's total trust. That person won't be able to trust or depend on you anymore. It's like this quote I've seen before, "Trust is like a mirror, once you break it, it will never be the same way as it used to be before."
