Duties and Responsibilities: A medical scientist deals with the maintenance of health and prevention and treatment of a disease. Their duties include:
- Conducting research to develop methodologies
- Evaluate effects of drugs, gases, pesticides, parasites, etc
- Follow strict safety procedures
- Study animal and human health
- Teach principles of medicine and medical and laboratory procedures to physicians
- Confer with the health department
